Hole plug

Hole plug

thingiverse

The frame for my home security gate is crafted from a sturdy steel box section, featuring large holes that enable seamless mounting to the wall. The original plastic plugs, showcased in the photographs as white inserts, failed to fit properly and have since fallen out, leaving them lost forever. This simple replacement snap-fit plug is designed to rectify this issue. I deliberately engineered the snap fit to be snug enough to prevent it from coming loose while avoiding being overly tight, thus ensuring it won't break when fitted. The orange hue visible in the photographs merely serves as a testament to my testing process; you will likely want to print these replacements in matching colors for a more streamlined appearance. This design boasts an outer cap diameter of 34 mm and a cap height of 3 mm, specifically tailored for holes with a diameter of 27 mm and accommodating plates no thicker than 5 mm.
