Hole calibration test
thingiverse
I've been crafting designs that necessitate holes and, like many others, I've discovered that a 5mm or 10mm hole after printing is rarely, if ever, 5mm or 10mm in size. Therefore, here's a simple test block for evaluating holes: a 50mm x 50mm x 10mm cube with various hole diameters. The cube features holes of the following sizes: 10mm, 15mm, and 20mm, along with a 25mm diameter hole. All holes are precisely positioned 5mm away from their closest edges. When working with Cura, I've found that adjusting the "hole horizontal expansion" setting in the shell section yields impressive results for creating accurate holes. For those who don't use design software, this simple test block may serve as a helpful starting point.
