Mount for small measurement devices like thermometer or hygrometer. The construction has proven surprisingly resistant against thermal deformation. I have one on the dashboard (without the wedge) of my car, at about 70 degC the display glitched out but the mount has not shown any deformation at all. The wedge is only needed if you want a different viewing angle. The hex slots are designed for 10mm hex nuts, in case you want to give the wedge a bit more weight.
