Holder for Ortlieb bag on Thule Chariot Cross
thingiverse
I regularly take my child shopping by bike using the Thule Chariot Cross Bike trailer. The trailer has a storage bag on its backside for carrying items, but this space often isn't enough to hold all the groceries I buy and, in addition, requires me to re-pack everything into another bag when bringing it from the cellar to our flat. So most of the time, I utilize my Ortlieb Backroller bag for storing the items I purchase at the store. I didn't want to leave the bag on the bike while I'm in the store, so I needed a solution. You can use the shoulder strap and position it over the trailer's handle, but this causes the bag to dangle around. Therefore, I came up with the idea of designing a holder for the bag. I consider this design a fusion of the two linked components. I used the shape of the light holder as the attachment part and the concept from the wall holder featuring an aluminium rod. The bag sits fairly well on the holder. However, I wouldn't suggest placing heavy items in it while pushing around the trailer, as this may cause it to tip over. A rod with an outer diameter of 8 mm is required for this project. I recommend using an aluminium rod because it fits best with the design of the trailer.
