Holder for Long Lines/Leashes
thingiverse
I design canine training equipment, specializing in nose work and retriever field work tools. My collection of long lines and leashes varies greatly in length, and I've been searching for an efficient way to organize them beyond simply tossing them into a bag. The resulting tangles are overwhelming. After experimenting with several designs, none of which worked effectively, I stumbled upon a solution while grabbing an extension cord from the garage. Its holder caught my attention - "This might just work," I thought. Using Fusion software, I created this design within a few hours, building upon the extension cord holder's concept and incorporating additional features. Most lines feature a knot at the end, which slots into the designated opening. The line is then wrapped around the main body of the holder before securing it with one of the numerous holes on the edges. With multiple options available, finding the perfect fit for each line's length should be effortless. Leashes with handles are easily accommodated by wrapping them around the protruding "horns." I crafted the leash holder in two sizes to cater to diverse needs. The smaller version measures 8 x 4.25 inches (20 x 11 cm) and is suitable for lines under 10 or 12 feet in length. In contrast, the larger size accommodates longer lines, measuring 9.25 x 4.25 inches (23.5 x 11 cm).
