Holder for Harbor Freight mini diamond file set.
thingiverse
I've got the Harbor Freight diamond needle file set, which comes with a cheap plastic holder. It's functional but not the sturdiest thing. I decided to get creative and design a custom holder, taking it up a notch by incorporating a lazy Susan-style turn mechanism. All you really need is the top piece for basic functionality. However, if you want to go all out like me, print out the fixing screw and base components, along with 1/4" balls - or in my case, airsoft BBs that I already had on hand. For added stability, I also included small cutouts for rubber feet approximately 1/2" (12.7mm) apart to ensure even placement. I happened to have spare parts lying around and thought it would be neat to prevent the holder from sliding all over my desk. Since the design is parametric, you can easily modify the bearing size if needed - I even created a version for 0.177" (4.5mm) steel BBs for those who might have them. I've also included provision for an Inexacto hobby knife, but it'll work with other larger or smaller Xacto handles, Sharpies, and most anything else you'd like to use. I'm a big fan of the Inexacto design and have probably printed around 10 of these at this point. Here are some things in the last photo: * The Harbor Freight diamond needle file set holder * A Better dial for MPSM * A Velocity stack for Noctua 40mm * An MPSM WK9.1 extruder base with access to a set screw * An Ugly little holder for cheap thermometer/hygrometer * An MPSM fan shroud with blow ring * An MPSM filament guide * A Large carrying handle for MPSM * A Rude extruder spinner for MPSM * The Inexacto hobby knife holder There are actually three of them in the photo: one hanging from a magnet on the printer, one in the middle of the file holder, and one in that crappy little green holder in the back that I never bothered to post. A Rude gnome - a test print that has taken up residence on top of my printer A Crappy inexacto/sharpie holder that I never published A Cool little painting I picked up from Sedona, AZ
