Holder brackets for a 240x300x3mm MDF sheet to mount it in the rear of an Ikea Platsa cabinet. ## Why I moved my printer to an enclosure and needed to separate the electric stuff from the printer due to overpopulation in the electric enclosure. The rear is a good spot for the electrics but I didn't have a plywood sheet or some other kind of wood that was fitting the space between the screw hole rows. ## Design Details Thing places a 24 x 30 cm MDF sheet just between the two screw hole rows in the back of a Platsa cabinet. My MDF sheet is from an old picture frame. Maybe Thing can scaled to fit other sizes. Has three different version. One is 330mm long but cannot be printed on my printer. There's also a 150mm long version and a 120mm and a 100mm long version. All of these have a tiny 0.3mm chamfer on one side. But this tiny detail doesn't show on my prints. Spacer Distance Disk included for a nicer distance holder in case the screws are poking through the MDF sheet. Which they did for me. I also added holders for a 30x28.2x3cm sheet in 100mm, 154mm (half the full holder), 150mm, and full length. That way, I was able to move the MDF plate ever farther to the back and fit everything much better into the cabinet. ## Print Instructions Print the ones that you think are best fitting for the MDF sheet you have. I used the 150mm version and fixed them with screws. Print with opening down for better removing of supports. Use 20% grid infill. 0.2mm layer height, 0.4mm nozzle Adjust to own experience. ### Materials Needed

4x M4x20 machine screw xor 4x other fitting screw.
8x 3mm wood screw, 6mm long.
2mm drill.
(optional) adhesive tape for temporary fixing and alignment.
(optional) straight ruler as a guide to fix things, other thing with straight edge.
(printable) distanced disk pieces that make a little bit more distance for the plate.
Adjust material to what is at hand. ## Assembly Instructions It might be easier to fix the holders inside the cabinet if the cabinet is still unassembled or partially assembled. Removing the back wall makes it easier as well.

Print out holders in needed number (probably 4 if printer cannot print the 330mm long thing).
(optional) Mount something on MDF plate.
If holders split into two parts: Mount 2 holder pieces in in assembly orientation in side cabinet with 2x M4 screw but not too tight.
Align with straight ruler and fix in position with tape.
Remove taped holders from cabinet.
Fit holder things from one side on MDF sheet. Top edge is recommended.
Align holder in the middle (or other desired position).
Fix holders with tape in place.
Drill 4x 2mm holes in equal distances in the holder.
Mount sheet holders with 4x wood screw on MDF plate.
Mount assembly with 2x M4 screw at position in Pltsa cabinet.
Fit remaining 2x sheet holder on bottom edge of MDF sheet, mount in place with 2x M4 screw.
Adjust bottom holder with ruler and make it straight.
Fix holders with tape in place.
Drill 4x 2mm holes in equal distances in the bottom holder.
Use wood screws to fix holders to MDF sheet.
Remove tape.
Done.
(All product links are MakerBot affiliate links.
