Holden Commodore Map Seat Clip
thingiverse
This customised clip is specifically designed for the map pocket on a VZ, VY etc Holden Commodore. If you're looking for a clip like the one shown in the pictures, this is your solution. To get started, simply print both files - the left and right ones - according to their design specifications. I developed these clips as an alternative to purchasing replacement parts that cost at least $20 each. By designing and printing them myself, I was able to create a more affordable option. When printing the clips, make sure to orientate them on their sides before slotting them into the corresponding spots on your seat map pocket. These customised clips were designed in Fusion 360, with version 9 being the latest iteration after numerous trials and adjustments. The reason for creating both left and right versions is that I needed to add structural reinforcement to each part, given their specific installation requirements. I printed these clips using ABS at a layer height of 0.2mm and an infill percentage of 20%. Please note that the clips may be slightly too tight when trying to reinsert the map seat into its original position, making it a one-time installation process. Attempting to remove the seat again may result in damage to the clips, which are made from ABS material. However, considering the cost savings of $20 versus just a few cents for printing, this solution is well worth the effort.
