First, I created a parallelepiped and made it hollow. Then, I added two small windows to save material during printing. Next, I designed a holder to keep the remote control secure near the bed. I also added a slight curve to prevent it from moving. Project Project: Hold TV Remote Control Objectives: This project is perfect for students who want to create something and get motivated by a reward. Audiences: There are no age or knowledge limitations because the final result is what matters most. Preparation: To design this object, I used Autodesk Inventor. I chose it because I learned some AutoCAD basics in school, and Inventor is similar with additional features. Designing 3D objects requires a basic understanding of CAD. To measure the remote control and bed bar thickness, I used a caliper. Steps! : The idea came to me while watching TV one evening. I couldn't find a place to put my remote control without getting up from the bed. So, I designed an object to hold it inside. Results: I hope this project inspires other students to design everyday objects and that they'll be happy after printing their projects.
