Hold Down Knob
thingiverse
I designed a spring-loaded hold-down knob for a portable power supply mounting system, which turned out to be my first attempt at making an indent type spring-loaded knob. I thought it might spark new ideas for others since I often get inspiration from their posts. This knob uses #8 sheet metal hold-down screws and M6x1.0 30mm socket head with a small spring. The knob itself requires additional support, which is crucial for its functionality. Applying a dab of silicone grease to the PLA moving parts makes all the difference in how smoothly it operates. I've found that silicone grease works well for any PLA components I've created so far. If there's enough interest, I can share the A360 file and provide details on how the indents were drawn using Fusion 360.
