The Bonfires festival in Alicante is an art show known as "Hogueras" or "Fogueres" which takes place between June 20th and June 24th, coinciding with the summer solstice. Several monuments are scattered throughout the city that get burned on the 24th in a spectacular event called "La cremá" (the burning), and this is why these monuments are known as Hogueras/Fogueres ("Bonfires"). Created by Pedro Espadero, 'Con Otra Mirada' stands at an impressive 19 meters high. This monumental installation is made from wood, cardboard, paintings, and expanded polystyrene, and can be found in the City Hall Square in Alicante, Spain.
