A Hobson joint or Hobson's coupling is a type of right-angle constant-velocity joint. It is a gearless angled drive that uses two bent rods to transmit torque around a corner. The rods are free to turn in their mounting holes in both legs of the coupling, which allows the joint to transmit power even when the shafts are not perfectly aligned.
