Hobie tandem island dagger board shear pin

I own a Hobie Tandem Island and the daggerboard shear pin snapped. Fortunately, I was able to retrieve both pieces and take some measurements to make this replacement myself. The new part should be printed horizontally for added lateral strength. After installing it on my boat, I sailed through one complete season without any issues. Disclaimer: Please note that this is an experimental part and not recommended for open ocean or solo sailing long distances. I don't have data on the sheer strength of this part, so please conduct your own testing before use and evaluate the proper material qualities needed for your sailing style. Use at your own risk. That being said, my PETG pin has been working perfectly on my boat for over three months while sailing on small reservoirs. I always keep a spare in my boat just in case I need to make a field repair.
