Hobie tandem island dagger board shear pin

I own a Hobie tandem island and the dagger board shear pin broke. Luckly, I was able to recover both pieces and took some measurements to make this replacement. The replacement part should be printed horizontally for lateral strength. I have had mine installed for one complete sailing season with no issues. Disclaimer: I should caution this is an experimental part and should not be used for open ocean or solo sailing long distances. I do not have data on the sheer strength the part, please do your own testing before use and evaluate the proper material qualities you need for your sailing style. Use at your own risk. That being said the PETG pin I use has been working on my boat for over 3 months while sailing on small reservoirs. I always keep a spare in my boat if I need a field repair. Happy sailing!
