Hobbyking Swamp Dawg Motor Mount
thingiverse
This motor mount replaces the stock mount included with the Hobbyking Swamp Dawg Airboat, allowing you to fit any motor that conforms to the 16/19 screw pattern. It is specifically designed to accommodate a 2205 size miniquad motor, such as the Emax RS2205 or similar models. The main mounting area of this part is 10mm thick, but I have recessed the mounting holes at the rear so you will require M3x8 screws that will be flush or slightly deeper once the motor is attached. To get the motor mount uprights oriented as shown in the pictures, you need to disassemble them. This is necessary because the motor does not fit between the motor mount support brackets. This part is designed to provide prop clearance of the uprights and place the prop directly in the center of the protective cage. Printing with 20% infill will provide plenty of strength, but since this is a small part, you can feel free to print it at 100% infill if you prefer. I recommend printing this part with rigid.ink PLA at 205 degrees on a glass bed heated to 60 degrees. It's also essential to apply masking tape to the bed for a smooth finish. The recessed holes at the rear of the mount need supports, or your printer will attempt to print circles in thin air. These supports come away easily from the print. Remember to adjust your personal print settings according to your choice and brand of filament for optimal results.
