HobbyKing Desert Fox Rear Suspension Arm

HobbyKing Desert Fox Rear Suspension Arm

Rear Suspension Arm for the HobbyKing Desert Fox Modeled extremely close to the original design, which resulted in an unattractive print with supports that needed removal. It was "good enough" as the length and width of the arm were correct along with the precise placement of holes, but the structure was ever so slightly offset. PETG prints were attempted at 100% infill, and subsequent durability testing will reveal where it breaks, allowing for necessary reinforcement adjustments to be made immediately after that. 2019-Mar-25: The PETG arm at 100% infill unexpectedly snapped at its outermost end - not along layer lines either. Furthermore, it delaminated where the infill met the perimeters, thus emphasizing the importance of having high enough overlap settings in place! A failed version of this print was also attempted using Nylon due to significant layer warp and splitting along the inboard axle. Currently, a revised design is being printed using Gizmodorks Nylon. If that fails, it will be reprinted in Alloy 910 at a significantly higher cost.
