Hobby Paint Bottle Shaker

Hobby Paint Bottle Shaker

I have a stash of hundreds of hobby paint bottles that are over ten years old and extremely stubborn when it comes to mixing/shaking. Many people use duct tape or rubber bands to secure their bottles to a reciprocating saw, which does the trick surprisingly well. I was looking for a more effective solution, so I came up with this device that can shake four bottles at once without needing any additional support from rubber bands or tape. To build it, you'll need to cut a saw blade down to 4-5 inches in length and grind or file off the teeth. There are two holes for bolting the blade into place, but I found that they're not necessary. Instead, I applied some epoxy to the blade and hammered it into the slot until it was firmly seated. So far, this setup has worked flawlessly after about 20 uses. You can check out a video of the device in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qyl9-yxdKk&feature=youtu.be *CAUTION* Since this device attaches to a power tool, please exercise caution when using it. Wear safety glasses and aim the bottles into a bucket or at the ground. Use your common sense and remember that even with this design, accidents can still happen.
