thingiverse
Still a work in progress, but if you've got one of those tiny lathes they use to make beads, the bottom guide will help keep some level of center when adjusting for new material. A mere $4-5 worth of hardware plus printing costs. You'll need a 3/8 inch bore radial bearing, a 1/4x3/8x1/2 Steel spacer, six millimeter bolt with three matching nuts, and two M5-.8x12mm cap screws to replace wing nuts. Remove the bearing from the tailstock to slide the hood over. Slide one nut between the tailstock bearing and large bearing. Use a screwdriver to keep the sandwiched nut from moving and then tighten the main bolt down. The back nut serves as a lock for the whole shaft, or it will spin out once you start. Use the third nut as a secondary lock. I printed it with a .6 nozzle and .4 layer height in PLA, but your preferred settings shouldn't matter much.
