Hobby Gearbox II

Hobby Gearbox II

Hobby Gearbox II Work in progress. I don't own a 3D printer yet so who knows if this will work, but this time with bigger gears and unproven shaft and motor tolerances. Since the gears on the first Hobby Gearbox are probably too small to print well, I redesigned it with bigger gears that require a different motor (Gear Motor 10/15/20 RPM 6V). This design keeps the box profile and output shaft diameter and location the same. It's a drop-in replacement for the earlier design. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQcYD-q-h7Y I designed this in Fusion 360, using its built-in spur gear generator script to make the gears. The gearbox is intended to power my original orrery design but is designed as a generic module. Fusion design: https://a360.co/2TrwLdX
