Don't own a 3D printer so this may not work at all. https://youtu.be/LW4VinbB4EY This is a gearbox powered by an affordable hobby motor (~$0.75 on eBay). The motor spins at 8000 RPM at 3V, but the gearing reduces that speed by 750 times for a little more than 10 RPM on the 6mm D-shaft output. Designed in Fusion 360. Gears created using Fusion's built-in spur gear generator script. The gearbox is intended to power my original orrery design, but it's designed as a generic module. Ideas for other applications are still developing... There is one experimental STL file in this upload. It's a test gear that slices okay in Cura using an Ender 3 profile. It probably needs a 0.2 nozzle to get enough detail, but maybe not. Cura says it's a 12-minute print using 1g of filament with a 0.4 nozzle. Using a 0.2 nozzle, the print takes about an hour, but uses the same amount of filament. Still reading? You must have the strong mind of a Jedi master. Still don't own a 3D printer. Tolerances have not been tested. Based on feedback comments, I've uploaded the rest of the printable parts for the gearbox. The gear on the motor should be press fit as should the gear on the D-shaft. All other gears should spin freely on their shafts. Motor should press fit into case.
