HO Scale 80 Foot Wood Thru-Girder Bridge
prusaprinters

A fully self-supporting 80 scale foot wooden thru-girder bridge modeled from the wintertime photo. I haven't printed out and attached the “steel” plates/nuts for the top and bottom above and below the girders where the rods tie in. Going to print those in carbon black/silver two color.

I used an X-Acto knife to scribe in the horizontal lamination lines on the girders.

Whole thing will be weathered appropriately at some point.

The pieces are all indexed with guide pegs/slots so assembly is very easy. The part names include the piece count required for each. The rods are 1mm stock I got off of Amazon for basically free. The girders have holes built into the design, but that is just for drilling guides. Run a 1mm drill bit through and you'll get a really nice tight fit for the rods.

I printed everything at 0.20 with a 0.40 nozzle. You could go finer if you want, but I don't see that it's necessary. I will switch to a 0.25 nozzle and a super-fine resolution for the plates which is why I haven't printed them yet…just haven't gotten around to it.
