This is a ballast applicator designed specifically for HO railroad use. It effectively applies standard HO gravel to straight tracks, but its adaptable design also accommodates curved track applications. To assemble the device, you'll need some basic tools including a file, sandpaper, a scalpel, and superglue or an alternative adhesive suitable for PLA materials. The applicator features a slider controlled by a lever, allowing for easy process interruption if needed. Assembly is straightforward: simply adjust the parts with your tools, conduct a dry assembly test, apply glue to the sides, and insert the axis before proceeding. Next, place the slider on the bottom side and position it to open with teeth aligned as depicted in the accompanying image. Before gluing the assembly together, ensure the slider moves freely without any obstructions. If all checks out, you can proceed to glue the sides and bottom together, followed by attaching the lever to the axis and securing it with glue.
