Hnefatafl Box
thingiverse
I was inspired by "Viking Board Game - Hnefatafl" and created an inlay, which resulted in a beautiful compact design that's perfect for on-the-go. All the pieces are made from 4mm thick birch plywood. The figure bases have a thin layer of felt (about 1mm) applied to them. I printed out the rules sheet, laminated it, and placed it on the free space on the board. The game rules have been simplified as much as possible, leaving room for players to agree on additional rules. Here's how I colored the figures: - All faces are matte silk finish. - Feet remain natural. - Black is stained with CLOU 156 (mahogany). - White is stained with CLOU (yellow). - For a final coat, I used linseed oil or varnish.
