The HMS Tabard, a T-class British sub from the third group, was constructed at Scotts, Greenock and launched in November 1945. It was the sole Royal Navy vessel named after the clothing item. Post-war, it tested new streamlining methods inspired by German Type XXIII subs. In May '63, it collided with HMAS Queenborough; before HMAS Melbourne & Voyager's collision, it exercised with them in Feb '64. Returning to UK, it became a static training sub at HMS Dolphin until 1974 when sold and dismantled. It's modeled by SD Modelmakers (17-inch size).
