
HMD John Mitchell (1917), Armed Drifter

NEW High Poly Version! VR Ready! John Mitchell was a stalwart Admiralty Steam Drifter that bravely served on mine work along England's southern coast. On November 14th, 1917, it made contact with the steamship SS Bjerka and sank approximately 10 miles southeast by east from Anvil Point (TNA: ADM137/578). Miraculously, all crew members survived. The wreck was documented on June 24th, 2015 as part of the HLF Forgotten Wrecks of the First World War project conducted by the Maritime Archaeology Trust. This model is based on an impressive collection of 684 still images. It has a depth of 42 meters. Photos and modeling: Brandon Mason
