The years leading up to World War II saw the RN return to a long-standing concept, where small escort warships played a crucial role in shipping protection. This led Winston Churchill to refer to Flower class ships as corvettes once again, effectively reclaiming a title previously associated with the RN. Therefore, there is no straightforward connection between the Flower class and earlier cruising vessels, dating back to before 1877. The Flower class is comprised of two distinct subgroups: an initial group consisting of 225 vessels ordered during 1939-1940 building programs; and a modified group, comprising an additional 69 vessels commissioned from 1940 onwards. The latter vessels were marginally larger and more heavily armed compared to the original designs. In addition, Flower-class ships that served with the US Navy were designated as Action-class gunboats, earning hull classification symbols beginning with "PG," regardless of whether they originated as original or modified designs. The HMCS Snowberry was a Royal Canadian Navy Flower class corvette actively involved in convoy escort duties during World War II. HMCS Snowberry began its life on February 24, 1940, with its launch taking place on August 8 of the same year. Originally commissioned by the Royal Navy (RN), the ship was reassigned to the RCN prior to completion. It officially joined the RCN fleet on November 26, 1940. Product Features: Poser Figure: HMCS Snowberry (.obj,.cr2/.png) The Smart-propped Anchors require users to access the folder marked "Chris's Props" > "HMCS Snowberry." There, clicking on any of the items listed will cause them to automatically load into the scene with all necessary adjustments. Due to various settings applied throughout the model, several unnecessary joints and parameters are now hidden, representing specific parts of the ship like elevators or cranes which only possess a single editable joint. Other locations within the design may include limitations designed to emphasize mechanical attributes. Accessing the scene tree allows for modification of various ship elements through parameters marked as Elevate, Train, Swing, Spin, and Swivel, which control aspects such as lights, guns, turrets or even spotlights, as well as movable depth charges capable of independent movement!
