The HMB-X5 system has been upgraded with a 40-degree GoPro Session mount made from NinjaFlex TPE, a top plate crafted from ABS, and an angled shock-resistant antenna mount constructed from TPU. These components work together to boost the durability and serviceability of your HMB-X5. The 40-degree GoPro mount is secured to the top plate using M3 bolts and lock nuts on its underside. This setup has proven highly reliable, with no instances of ejection after six months of use. To further secure your GoPro, we recommend utilizing a high-quality strap. The top plate itself measures 2.5mm in thickness and is made from ABS material. It features standard standoff holes, custom holes designed to accommodate the GoPro mount, and convenient slots for mounting control antennas using zip ties and heat shrink. After three months of rigorous use, this plate has shown no signs of damage. The antenna mount is constructed from semi-flexible SainSmart TPU. To ensure maximum protection in the event of a crash, we recommend soldering a straight SMA connector to an extra-long cable attached to your VTX. This allows for some slack within the frame, allowing the coax feed line to move freely while the rest of the system remains intact. The mount itself flexes and returns to its original position, safeguarding your VTX, top plate, antenna, and SMA connector from damage.
