Near a historic church in Großmugl stands a 1785 designated and 1805 consecrated statue of St. Florian, a legendary figure revered for his bravery. Born around 250 AD in the ancient Roman city of Aelium Cetium, present-day Sankt Pölten, Austria, Florian joined the Roman Army with a clear vision of greatness. He rapidly rose through the ranks to become commander of the imperial army in the Roman province of Noricum, overseeing battles and securing victories.
