HK Rattler locked differential
thingiverse
Since one of my small gears snapped in my HK Rattler's rear differential, I made up my mind to make it locked permanently. You'll still need to get bearings, main big running gear and wheel axle shafts from the original differential. On top of that, you'll require something that is 2mm in diameter to secure the wheel axle shafts in place. I had to use a 1.8mm knitting needle borrowed from my mother-in-law. Here's how I put it together: First, install bearings at the ends of differentials. Next, insert wheel axle shafts into place. Then, insert pins to hold the shafts firmly. After that, I had to rivet the ends with a hammer. Following that, install the big running gear. Finally, put everything back together and have a blast. I thought this might come in handy for someone else who's in need of it as well. Print settings - Adjust them until they're perfect. I used 40% line infill, 195 degrees extruder temperature, 60 degrees bed temperature (PLA). Also, I thickened the walls a bit to account for the stress it would get. Support was set only for parts touching the bed (under expert settings).
