HK 20a/30a UBec ESC Flashing Tool
thingiverse
This is a flashing adapter for the HK 20/30amp ubec ESC. The adapter provides a clothes pin style clip that allows you to make contact with the contacts on the board. Flashing the ESC is not discussed in detail here, as there are many existing resources available online. For the pinouts of the HK 20a/30a UBec ESC, refer to the attached picture. To obtain the required pins, simply pull some out from a pin header (as shown in the picture). These pins can be sourced from hobbyking, amazon, or numerous other retailers; they are extremely common. Tip: when preparing the contacts for use, make sure they make contact by filing them flat and positioning them close together. To achieve this, use sandpaper and something thin and flat (a blank piece of circuit board works well) to hold the pins at the correct height. Then, pull the sandpaper out a few times while gently applying gentle pressure; I used wet/dry paper, which is black, so I could see that it was smooth when six evenly colored copper lines appeared. Warning: note that the pinout for the 20a/30a ESC is significantly different from the 10a version available at hobbyking. Therefore, pay close attention to your wiring. Disclaimer: Flashing an ESC essentially voids its warranty and renders it impossible to restore the original firmware once it has been flashed. I am not accountable for any actions taken with this adapter or if you allow the magic smoke to escape. BelHeli is indeed a fantastic option for quads, in my opinion surpassing SimonK's capabilities so far. As a result, I have successfully swapped all of my quads over to BelHeli.
