The HJ-Y3 tricopter frame comes with a mounting plate designed specifically for the TowerHobby MG-90 servo, although it's worth noting that this servo falls short in terms of precision, making it unsuitable for use as a helicopter or tricopter tail servo due to its numerous critical flaws. I acquired a separate MG90 servo as part of my frame purchase and, upon inspection, determined it was essential to replace it with a superior alternative. To address this issue, I crafted an adapter that enables the mounting of a high-quality Turnigy S306G all-metal servo as a tail servo without requiring any modifications to the HJ-Y3 tricopter frame. This adapter slips over the servo and securely rests against the mounting posts, ensuring a tight fit is maintained at all times. It's crucial to note that the adapter must be extremely snug in order to hold the servo firmly in place. I deliberately designed it to be slightly oversized, thus eliminating any potential wiggle room, regardless of the printer used to produce it. As a result, you'll need to use a file on both the outer and inner surfaces to achieve a precise fit.
