The HJ-Y3 tricopter frame stands out as quite appealing. My main complaints are about the placement of the landing gear, which I find awkwardly positioned near the front, and the lack of a flat surface to mount a slightly larger battery. The landing gear placement causes the tail to be weighed down during landings due to its forward positioning. I opted to relocate it 30 mm towards the back, resolving the issue effectively. This adjustment allowed me to install a robust battery mounting plate that offers both a level surface for the battery and room for two battery straps to secure it. The straps themselves keep the plate firmly in place without needing any drilling or modifications to the frame, ensuring seamless compatibility with this setup.
