HJ-Y3 Tricopter battery attachment plate
thingiverse
This is my design for a plate that holds a battery on my tricopter, which I'm building. The plate lets me mount the battery underneath the frame, giving more space for the flight controller, power distribution, and other hardware that one might want to include. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Migbot Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15mm per layer, with three perimeters Infill: Between 60% and 100% Post-Printing Securing the battery in place I designed the plate to prevent the battery from wiggling or sliding around when secured by a single strap. To do this, attach a piece of velcro to the plate (see the photo). I intentionally left holes in the middle of the plate for this very purpose. Don't make my mistake! Attach only small bits of velcro at each end, just enough to keep it from wiggling. A large piece of velcro attached directly to the battery will be difficult to detach from your tricopter. Landing gear modification To secure a longer battery that doesn't fit on the plate, you'll need to attach your landing gear with countersunk screws (see the photo). Regular screws protrude too much and can poke the battery. That's not what you want!
