The first step in creating this model was quite easy, just a simple sketch extrude of the oval-ish side profile. And to create the large gap in the middle, I sketched it out on the top plane and extrude cut the model. As well as a 45 degree chamfer on the corners. Then to hollow out the side of the model I stared a sketch on the face and created two separate closed profiles to extrude cut at different lengths. I used the offset entities tool to create the thin outline and then extruded.
