Hitch Cover Pin

A Hitch Pin for Secure Hitch Covers - Don't Use It for Load Bearing! Please don't attempt to use this pin for load bearing applications as it will definitely fail. Its design is specifically tailored to hold lightweight ornamental hitch covers only, not heavy loads. The pin fits perfectly into a 16mm hole on a 2" hitch, but if your hitch has a larger hole, please contact me - I have an 18mm version available that hasn't been uploaded yet. After printing a hitch cover for my jeep, I realized there was no easy way to attach it securely. The most elegant solution is a 3D printed hitch pin! After experimenting with various designs, I found this one worked best. I designed it to fully cover the threads, protecting them from road grime and dust. The nut cap is deeper than the bolt threads, ensuring that when installed, the nut cap will cover the threads completely. I use PETG with 100% infill for printing, slightly increasing the temperature (by about 5 degrees) to ensure strong layer bonding. This produces a pin secure enough to hold a hitch cover in place. After a full year of rigorous testing and abuse, it still holds strong! To print, simply create one nut, one bolt, and optionally two washers. Have fun printing and customizing your own hitch covers!
