This adapter is specifically engineered to join the manual router lift handle rod onto a drill machine. Like many enthusiasts, I too have some unused ones collecting dust ;). So, I decided to repurpose it. The design works flawlessly and the drill machine is set to screw mode at its lowest 1 or 2 torque level settings. It effortlessly lifts the heavy router and if you engage the setting lock in "ON" position then its drill clutch simply slips :). Next, I plan to either permanently mount a drill underneath the router table or acquire a "quick connect flexible shaft" that allows for access and raising the router from the side of the table.
