Archaeologists uncovered this substantial mortared fragment of historic bricks during excavation of a lighthouse ruin site that stretches back to around 1847 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida. Craftsmen had made these individual bricks by hand and laid them in a lime-based bond, which was discovered along an intact section of a collapsed wall from the 65-foot tower.
