Hirth Joint for mobility scooter awning
thingiverse
I made an awning for my mobility scooter so I could mount solar panels on it. I needed a way to be able to fold the awning down easily, so I could put the cover over it. I remixed this hirth joint from Thingiverse so that it would fit onto tubular aluminium rods rather than the square of the original design. The holes for the bolts are M6 (6mm). For maximum strength print them they way they are oriented in the supplied STL file. I printed at 100% infill for maximum strength also. At 0.2 layers, it took 12 hours to print 1 set.
