Hinged Parametric Fan Frame Mount

Hinged Parametric Fan Frame Mount

thingiverse

This set of parts enables you to hold a fan over your bed for cooling prints, featuring easy on/off access and simple hinge mechanism for sturdiness. Inspired by mrice's 80mm fan mount, this design avoids the issues of its predecessor with a more robust structure and adjustable length bar. OpenSCAD is used to ensure parameterizability. It includes STLs for both 70mm and 80mm fans, with potential future improvements including a nut trap on the fan mount and a wire hole on the arm. To assemble, print two hinge clamps and insert trapped nuts in their holes; place them together and attach the hinge arm. Attach the mount assembly to your preferred location using two M3 bolts. For the fan installation, use four M3 nuts and bolts to secure it onto the mounting plate. Finally, mount the fan on the arm with another nut and bolt. Enjoy your new cooling setup!
