Hinged, magnetic Flip Open Scope Cover (print in place)
cults3d
Wanting to practice print-in-place and parametric design I came up with a flip open scope cover, which prints as one part. There is 0.2 mm tolerance in the hinge for tight fit and ease of printing. The package contains 50 sizes for scopes that are most popular on the market ("ID" in the filename stands for the inner dimesion of the scope cover). If you do not find your desired size in the package, message me and I will design one for your specific needs (measure with calipers, and add 0.05-0.1 mm for tight fit). Eight 2x1 mm circular magnets are pressed into slots in the lid to hold the cover closed, as well as into the hinge to hold it open. I found the best way to put them in place is to press them into the lid, connect the opposing magnets, and then carefully close and press on the cover to sit the other side. The hinge magnets can be a bit tricky, so I suggest marking the polarity with a marker, as they tend to rotate.
