This project is still under development, and it's my first attempt. The qu-bd model can be accessed at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:51916. I plan to conduct a trial print at work tomorrow to check the fit. However, I need to figure out how to secure the extruders when closed. I've included a SketchUp model for your perusal; feel free to improve upon it or provide constructive criticism. An update on 02/25/13: The proof of concept appears promising but requires minor adjustments. I intend to add a small cylinder across all three hinges at the rear to accommodate a pin for locking/stopping purposes. I also plan to eliminate the protruding plates that were initially used for additional motor support. Due to my busy schedule, printing will have to wait until the weekend. 03/02/13 update: Various small modifications have been made. I attempted adding nut traps but encountered difficulties due to my limited SketchUp skills. I arranged the revised components in a nest, including belt clamps and added pads to combat curling. I've also provided an updated SketchUp file for those interested. 03/03/13 update: Nut traps have been successfully incorporated into the design. 03/07/13 update: The finalized design is ready for printing. Earlier experimental files have been discarded. The updated components are included in the "nest" SketchUp file, while the other file contains extruder models. To print, begin vertically with two shells and 25% infill; no supports are required. If you've had good results using different settings, please share them! *Note: I achieved better outcomes with three shells, a layer height of .25, and 10% infill, without support/raft.
