Hinged Door Retainer

This is the retaining clip part of the W4 Veneta hinged door retainer for motorhomes and caravans. It is the part that breaks when the wind catches the door and smashes against the retainer. The original retainer comes in 4 parts. This part fits in between the two main body parts. There are 2 versions I have uploaded. The first is a replica, depending on the accuracy of your printer, you may need to ream the hole slightly with a 6.5mm drill bit. You can also chamfer the edges of the clip opening with a fine grit sandpaper to improve the fit. However, it seems to work fine but is a little stiff. The second has a slot to improve the flexibility of the clip and a slightly larger hole for the retaining pin. I printed mine with 4 outer walls to improve strength. It's probably best printed in ABS, ASA or maybe PET-G or Nylon. Whatever you choose, it's easy to print and keep a couple of spares in the van for when they break as it's only 2 screws to undo the body and replace the clip part.
