***Update*** I highly recommend checking out Kwmachine's vertical versions of his hinge, as they look fantastic and he's the original designer. Considering he created the original, it makes sense to start with his work. I drew inspiration from Kwmachine's gate hinge to build this hinge. We aimed to replace using PVC T junctions in the original design because it made adding another gate or pole above ground level so convenient for a vertical double gate setup. During my last build (32mm), I realized that modeling only the modified tall part would save me time, and it was actually good practice in hindsight. We were struggling to find 1/2" PVC pipe, but when we did, it proved too flimsy for our needs. I haven't printed any other sizes yet, but they seem like they should slice just fine (I sliced them in Cura to check for potential issues). Here are the corresponding diameters: - Imperial: 50 = 1/2", 75 = 3/4", and 1 = 1" - Metric: 20mm, 25mm, and 32mm The reinforced spine along the vertical portion held up surprisingly well to multiple hits, both direct and indirect (when someone struck the pole far above the hinge). I printed these using SainSmart TPU with 6 walls and 50% concentric 3D infill settings in Cura.
