Hinged case for Vallejo 17ml paints
myminifactory
Here is a case I made to store and protect my Vallejo paints that I use for airbrushing and model painting. It is a snug fit for 15 standard 17ml bottles. It is made up of two pieces with a simple filament hinge. Just line up the two parts and run a piece of 1.75mm filament through the holes. I also melted the plastic at each end of the filament with a soldering iron to stop it from moving (picture 6). There are two versions. One has four magnets to keep the lid secure and to give the closing a nice snap. The other doesn't have the indents for the embedded magnets although it still functions well. You can print and assemble or you can apply paint like I did. I printed it in a basic white PLA. I sanded, primed and spray painted the lid of my box gold to give it a more luxury feel. I also lined the top of the box with some black packaging foam I had lying around. The flat top means that it is stackable and the tops of the paint bottles stick up so that you can identify the colours without having to move them. The magnets needed are 10mm by 1mm (the last picture). It's solid and I'm proud of the design. Tips are greatly appreciated:) Buy the magnets: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007JTL7G6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B007JTL7G6&linkCode=as2&tag=tommaxdesign-21&linkId=10a495388622da9a96960817e38ec450 Buy some paints: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000PHCTRK/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B000PHCTRK&linkCode=as2&tag=tommaxdesign-21&linkId=f830e22e183b67c916ce1b664a5f546e
