Hinge Variations
thingiverse
Reusable, customizable hinges feature additive and subtractive parts for seamless integration with other designs. I've used this design on my Pop Box (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:248387). The main SCAD file is hingePairBase.scad, with variations named by the parameter they alter. To use these hinges, remember that they have a top and bottom; keep the plate material on the left for correct orientation. Arrange them around a polygon in an anticlockwise, bottom-to-top manner to maintain this positioning. The pin is made of filament; experiment with different filaments to find the best fit for your inside diameter. I've had success with glow-in-the-dark PLA at 2.06mm ID, but red ABS may need slight sanding. The hinge sides with lower hingelet counts are slightly larger for smooth rotation and grip on the other side. All parts were printed in PLA at 0.2mm layer height on a Replicator 1.
