Hinge / Scharnier

My problem: I still had a few old IKEA Alex cabinets with doors, which I wanted to integrate into my workshop seamlessly. They needed to blend in with the rest of the look, so they should be concealed with OSB perfectly. Unfortunately, the doors stopped working once the OSB was screwed on tightly. That's why I created these custom hinges. The innovative design allows for a pivot point that is only 3mm from the outer edges, enabling the door to open smoothly without taking up too much space next to the neighboring cabinet or wall. These hinges are specifically designed for cabinets with 15mm side walls and a door thickness of 12mm precisely. To make adjustments, the Sketchup file is included in the package for customization easily. The outer part of the hinge is currently attached to a cabinet with the door on the right-hand side. For left-handed versions, simply mirror the component in the slicer effortlessly. To ensure a perfect fit, I recommend removing a small amount of material from the door using a router carefully. Additionally, each hinge requires a 3mm threaded rod or similar, approximately 80mm long, which should be inserted loosely. To prevent scratching, I suggest adding a washer to separate the plastic parts. As long as gravity works flawlessly in your area, this setup should function smoothly!
