Hinge Printable As An Assembled Unit Without Supports
thingiverse
This simple hinge design adheres to the 45-degree overhang restriction and features no spans. The mechanism relies on conical pins within narrow fingers fitting into conical hollows of thick fingers for smooth operation. It enables angles ranging from 180 to 90 degrees, making it easy to print. Currently, this is a demonstration via the customizer; a more parametric version is forthcoming. The test print exhibited in black PLA on a MakerGear M2 with 0.25mm extrusion and 25% fill in larger flat areas was performed on a 6.35mm (1/4 inch) thick part with a 0.4mm gap between separate parts assembled. Slight force is needed for seamless operation, maintaining an open position; if your hinge feels rough or sticks, increase the gap setting.
