Print out the drill template, then carefully drill a 2mm hinge hole into it. Next, take a sharp knife and gently pry apart the hinge pieces from both sides. Take a piece of filament and heat one end until it's molten. Slide the filament into the hinge hole and melt the other end to secure it in place. I've also made significant improvements to my model designs by using separate hinge files.
