Hinge for a Box (3D printer) = Thinner
thingiverse
I wanted to use the hinges found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1187867 but after printing the two halves, I couldn't get them to mate properly because they were too tight. So I modified the original STL file to make a thinner hinge. To assemble correctly, you need to print one hinge half from the link above and then print one of mine. They will fit together smoothly and work perfectly. Here are my print settings: Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Notes: I've rotated the STL file so that the large base is now on the bottom. My printer didn't require any supports (the overhangs printed fine). After printing, you may need to remove a small artifact at the top of the hinge due to the .STL file used. Otherwise, all should be good. I designed this project partly using Onshape and then TinkerCAD because free CAD packages don't seem to have all the features I needed. Between the two tools, I was able to make the necessary changes.
