A novel hinge design is based on an existing shelf model but features a spring inside the pivot area for improved functionality. This hinge can be easily manufactured using 3D printing techniques, with enough space between the wall, spring, and rod to ensure proper function even if printed as a whole. Advanced manufacturing allows for easy creation of its three main parts: two wings (27x75mm), a rod (6mmØ), and two springs. The left wing has a special hole for spring insertion. The rod has a small wing to hold the right wing in place, with a slot on top to help the hinge retract when folded. A blue cap, made from plastic or rubber, covers the spring entrance at the top and bottom. The spring (2mmØ) is bent as shown, with one end inserted into the left wing and the other into the rod for optimal performance.
