
Hinge - 1U Cubesat Concept

In my project, I aimed to ensure simple manufacturing without compromising the structural strength of the product. The design has a total volume of 10x10x10cm, including hinges, and weighs approximately 132g using average aluminum density and SolidWorks' volume material value. It is assembled with two M3x10mm screws. The product can be manufactured via selective laser sintering or direct metal laser sintering through 3D printing, as long as the printer achieves an accuracy of 0.2mm or better. The wall thickness of 2mm allows for easy use with common 3D printable polymers like nylon and ABS. For better thermal performance, aluminum or other 3D printable metals can be utilized. This design is easily adaptable for larger units as well.
